Nvidia to face lawsuit over GTX 970 3.5GB Scandal

Nvidia faces a class action lawsuit with claims of False Advertisement of its 970 GTX Card. The card labeled on the site as having 4GB of V-Ram has been having a bit of a struggle to keep up when all it's 4GB are being used. Because the card is oriented for enthusiasts which run games at over 1080p it falls short of its promise. The reality is that the card has 3.5GB of high speed DDR5 memory and another 0.5 of lower speed memory, thus the decay in performance.

The company stated that they did not know of the cards problem, as the 0.5 RAM just slipped trough its marketing department, and was labeled incorrectly.

The lawsuit alleges that "Nvidia engaged in a scheme to mislead consumers about the characteristics, qualities, and benefits of the GTX 970."
What does this mean for Nvidia? Legal fees, full refunds for those that purchased the card and well as restitution.

Just a lot of hassle and as a personal note I hope they will be more careful next time. Even if they knew about it or if it was some malevolent scheme, they should have known the truth will come to light soon enough.
